The Musandam Peninsula, situated on the
tip of the Arabia, is regarded as one of the most beautiful sites in the
region.
Nothing beats a trip through the naturally carved limestone mountains. With
their irregular peaks and bordered by low foothills surrounded by wadis, these
mountains are quite unique to the region.

Khasab
Meaning fertility, is a peaceful town lying in a small harbor at the base of
Wadi Khasab in Musandam in the north of Oman. Khasab overlooks the pristine
waters of the Gulf of Oman and the Straits of Hormuz. The land in the area is
rich with an abundance of fresh water. The population is 24,000 souls which
increases during the summer as villagers from the vast surrounding mountains
relocate
to the town to for fishing and to harvest dates.
Khasab trades with
Iran and obviously due to its proximity to the sea, fishing plays an enormous
part in the tradition and economy of Khasab; the harbor is dotted with small
craft teeming with fish alongside the sedate traditional hand built dhows used
for generations by fishing families.
The other most prolific ‘crop’ of the area is dates, abundantly harvested from
the extensive Khasab plantations. Interestingly fishing plays a part in the
date farming due to the unique use of sardines as fertilizer.
The Portuguese occupied Khasab for some hundred years and their military legacy
remains to be seen today in the imposing fort overlooking the waterfront.

Full Day Dhow Cruise to Khor Sham in azure waters, through a majestic 25 km fjord. The Dhow will anchor at various places during the cruise. Surrounded by spectacular mountains and serene remote white sand beaches, our guests will enjoy dolphin watching, swimming and snorkeling in pristine waters teeming with friendly colorful fish. | Program At the entrance of the fjord our guests can enjoy dolphin watching. The Dhow will anchor at various places during the cruise for swimming and snorkeling in pristine waters teeming with friendly colorful fish. We offer our guests soft drinks, fruit and lunch during the day. All snorkeling equipment is included. The Dhow comes to rest at the beach of Hayoot where a barbeque dinner will be cooked and fully equipped Camping Tents are prepared for their overnight. DAY 2:Full Day Dhow Cruise to Kumzar: (Time: 9 a.m to 4 p.m) Along the way our guests will enjoy spectacular mountain scenery and clear blue sea teeming with flying fish, anchor at remote islands for swimming and snorkeling with friendly colorful marine life. Refreshments and lunch will be served along the way. Our Dhow will return to Khasab harbour late afternoon and our guests are transferred back to their hotels in Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah or Dubai .
